The final piece of the jigsaw puzzle has arrived. I’ve cleaned a layer of mud off it and the grey paint underneath is looks good. I won’t do anything with it now other than ad some grease. I’ve had to find a bolt to hold the ring onto the dynamo and an o-ring to go round the wheel.

It looks fantastic and the inclusion of an original spring still attached it a bonus. Looking at the fitting instructions it sits lower than I originally thought on or around the dynamo.

This project wouldn’t have been completed without help from Fred and his lathe. Thanks so much for making the ring for the pulley and fixing the pulley.

It was to late and dark last night to record a video and go out on the road and test it. I will be doing so at the weekend. Initial testing proves it works as I increase the throttle the dial increases to the corresponding number.

Below are some image of how the arm arrived before cleaning a fitting.

I’ve had to improvise with the connecting bolt for now. It’s Metric!!! The cardinal sin for a Ferguson tractor owner. My intention is to replace it when I find out what it should be.

I still have to make a clip to hold the cable in position and away from the exhaust manifold.

Jobs to do

Make bracket to hold cable away from exhaust manifold

  • Tighten nut at the back of the arm (grease) it is very tight
  • Add grease to the nipple on the arm
  • Modify dynamo bracket to accommodate the band around the dynamo
  • Twist the arm slightly as it looks as though its been slightly bent in the past.
  • A bit more cleaning, to remove any remaining mud
  • Source correct bolt

* A-TE-F93 Hours Meter II

Well it’s all coming together nicely. Tonight I’ve been in the garage finishing off the bracket that holds the hours meter onto the steering column. I couldn’t resist a trial fit. I also tried the routing of the cable and tested to see it would spin with the radius of the bends involved.

Below shows the view from the drivers seat, nice. I’ll have to remember the dial shows 2049 hours before it was fitted to my tractor.

A side view of the meter before the cable was fitted. The bracket holding it is almost invisible.

I’m anticipating the arival of the part that connects to the dynamo in the next couple of days. And I should be collecting the dynamo pulley with the 2″ diameter ring on at the weekend from a friend who has a lathe. So early next week I should be testing a working example. It’s only taken about 10 years to gather together.

* A-TE-93 Information still needed

Posted on June 28th, 2015 by ploughmyfield. Filed under General.

I’m still looking for information and dimensions for some of the A-TE-F93 parts.

The clips are for the TEF-20, the one on the left is under the dashboard, the one on the right connects at the end of the ait cleaner.

Diameter of the hole on the right is 1/4″

CLIPS

I think the dimension X is 4″

RINGS

Once I’ve got the dimensions for the spring I will still need to get one made!

* A-TE-F93 Hours Meter

A-TE-F93
Hi All,
In anticipation of a delivery I am looking out for I thought I’d start this article.

I am hoping for a delivery of item 1 from the picture above. A part I’ve been trying to get hold of for nearly 10 years.  The items above make up the combined hours and RPM (in top gear) item A-TE-F93 (“F” = Diesel model, A-TE-F93 = R.P.M, A-TE-F95 = K.P.H.) from the Ferguson accessory range. I’m now on the hunt for items 2-11.

I think I have enough information to make item 2 the bracket that holds the gauge onto the steering column on the tractor.

With the right information I’m sure I can make items 5 and 6.

Does any one have for sale the parts that attaches to the dynamo, this consist of items 7-13? it looks like the picture below when connected to the tractor.

If you have a diesel tractor I’m also looking for the ring item 14 that attaches to the dynamo pulley. you can see it also shown in the top diagram above. if your pulley has a ring not three veins on one side, that is the bit I’m after. I have since discovered from FoFH members that the outside diameter of the item 14 “PULLEY INDICATOR  DRIVE RING” is 2? I still don’t know the width but I’m assuming the same as the veins on the pulley?

Some of these items are available new from Agriline, References below.

Drive Bracket

Drive Cable

Mounting Bracket

I await your replies, Thanks

* Possible 40th Present

Posted on June 24th, 2013 by ploughmyfield. Filed under General.

I have been hunting high and low for a tractor hours meter for my TEF-20 for years and never got close to the prices the originals command. So on reading a post on the FoFH forum my heart jumped for joy. I came across this item in the Agriline catalogue.

AgrilineTractor meter Kit

The only thing I have of the original product is the manual. Below shows a parts list for the diesel version of the kit, taken from the original manual.

A-TE-F93

I have since discovered from FoFH members that the outside diameter of the “14 PULLEY INDICATOR  DRIVE RING” is 2″ I still don’t know the width?

According to Colin Taylor on the Forum the item hasn’t gone into production yet but will be available October-November time this year. As you can see from the original parts list there are some items not shown in the Agriline product (items 5,6 & 10).Item 10 is the spring that holds the drive wheel against the pulley! I wonder if they are included or they haven’t been made yet or they haven’t thought about them. I think I might contact someone at Agriline to discuss it further.

This would make an absolutely super 40th birthday present (mine is coming up at the start of next year).
