* Footplates Yes or No?

Posted on July 21st, 2011 by ploughmyfield. Filed under General.

I again have bought some more Ferguson Parts on eBay. I really should spend more time in the garage fixing the parts I have got rather than trawling eBay looking for others. It’s just easier sitting in front of a computer rather than doing some proper work in the garage.

These footplates looked too good to be true, I also got them for a bargain price.(The price doesn’t mean anything if it’s not the right item)

The more I looked at the picture the more things didn’t look right.

For a TE-20 footplate the front top section bends over the foot rests but these are straight.

Looking at other footplates these could possibly be from an  MF165. I wondered if anyone could comment.

In the ferguson Accessory range they were item A-TE-61 and came with a hinge for the seat. to allow the driver so stand up instead of sitting down all the time.

I thought that maybe changing the front section and adapting it to fit a TE-20 would also be possible.

I then thought DO I WANT FOOTPLATES ON MY TRACTOR?

So what do you think, footplate a menice or a god send?  Add a comment below with what you think, click on the work comment below this post.

    Tim, for me they are a definite YES a must have. However should you wish to sell them, I will be the first to take them off your hands!

    yes they are early tea20 footplates.My ones were identical but unfortunately rusted out.The hook part is separate and bolts on through the angled slot and through the top two holes.I can probably find my rusty ones and photograph and dimension them for you if you want.Definitely fit them ,they are a great safety and comfort fitting

    Hi Tim,for me it would be a yes as before when I was getting onto my Ferguson TEF 20 I slipped off the footrest and hit the inside of my leg off of it,I need footplates on my Ferguson TEF 20 anyway for my Ferguson Weather Sheild cab,its very hard to get on and off without them while trying to hold the doo open!!!!!!!!!,the footplates make it much more easier!!!!!!!!!.I hope this hlps you make up your mind 🙂

    I think the front brackets are MF65. I can supply the original T20 type.The ‘really original’ footplates, supplied by the factory as an additional cost extra, had pressed diagonal ‘cleats’ on them instead of the holes. I am now making these too. The footplates shown, with holes, were for the MF35 and these were retro fitted by owners on to their T20s
