* 9S-KE-20 Manual

Posted on April 23rd, 2011 by ploughmyfield. Filed under General, Manuals.

As you may or may not know last year I was given a 9S-KE-20 spring tine cultivator. Having this website sometimes has it’s advantages.

Free Implements

I asked and one of the FoFH members kindly sent me a photocopy of the instruction manual for the implement. I never thought I’d get an original Instruction manual.

Then last week I saw one on Flee Bay but it went for £33 a price that is just to rich for me. Now what normally happens in these situations is everyone that owns one of these items then sees how much they are worth and a flurry of others then appear. My theory was correct and within a week 2 other copies of the Instruction manual were listed, one of which I now own. I plumped for the earlier larger format (8.5″ wide by 10.75″ high) manual from 1948, which incidentally is Ferguson Publication document 16 (FP/16/5/5,000/4/48).

If anyone has any more information about Norfolk Tractors LTD I’d love to know more.

I’ve also collected a parts manual for the same item.

I still have 2 spring broken to be replaced so if you have an parts please let me know.

Happy Easter one and all.

    Just thought id mention you have a fantastic website which provides some great knowledge.

    I recently have purchased the same manual as yours but i purchased one which is the normal standard size manual and the background colour to the writing is green.

    Just wondering if you had any idea as why they changed the colours when printing the larger manuals?

    Hi, Aled
    This is a very interesting point you have raised. I have not been able to ascertain reasoning behind the colour of either the cover or the colour of the writing on the cover. I know there has been some discussion about this in the past. One of the reasons could be the availability of Mmaterials afte rthe war? Have you looked at the page, fp21820000251 which talks about manuals.
    One advantage to the later smaller format manuals is that most of them have a parts list section in the back, something which the earlier manuals do not. A separate parts manual was available in the earlier large format.

    Just a note on your comment about”fleebay” I was looking for a toolbaox for my TEF20 and had a bid on one that went to £80.00. I stopped bidding at £50.00 and obviously lost the item. I then waited and low and behold more original toolboxes appeared and I got one for £41.50. By the way it will be fitted on the nearside wing?
