I was refering to the bit before you put the first cog on the crankshaft : 

First was to add the shims back behind the cog on the crank shaft.

I have only placed the starter dog on the crank to turn the engine using the handle.
there is a retaining washer and shim to be added to the nut. but as I say it&#039;s only to test the engine.</description>
